Functional Skills Maths Entry 3- This course is for learners with a basic level of maths and have been assessed as working towards Entry Level 3. Learners will become more confident to solve mathematical problems, take and record measurements and find information from simple charts graphs and diagrams.Learners will improve their mathematical skills and demonstrate the ability to apply mathematical thinking to solve problems successfully in the workplace, in the home and in other real-life situations.At the end of the course, if learners pass a mock exam paper, they will have the opportunity to sit a nationally recognised qualification in Functional Skills Mathematics at Entry Level 3.Functional Skills Maths Level 1 & Level 2- This course will enable Level 1 and Level 2 learners to develop confidence to solve mathematical problems.Learners will improve their mathematical skills and demonstrate the ability to apply mathematical thinking to solve problems successfully in the workplace, in the home and in other real-life situations.At the end of the course, if learners pass a mock exam paper, they will have the opportunity to sit a nationally recognised qualification in Functional Skills Mathematics at either Level 1 or Level 2.The course is delivered either once or twice per week.(The course may be FREE or discountedfor adults over 19 who qualify based on their residency status,their earnings/employment/benefits status and their current level of Maths)

Prior to enrolling on a course, learners will need to complete an initial assessment to assess their level and learning needs.
Functional Skills Maths Entry 3- Confidently carry out calculations of whole and decimal numbers using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division e.g. calculate the total cost of shopping items, check for correct change, calculate the cost per person when splitting a restaurant bill.Work confidently with simple measures, e.g. find the length and width of a room, calculate a journey time, read time in digital and analogue, take metric weights of items.Work confidently with data, e.g. find data from a bar chart, list or table, create chart, graph or table from given data.Perform simple calculations with and without the use of a calculator.Learners will be expected to demonstrate these outcomes, and others, confidently and consistently, by the end of the course.Functional Skills Maths Level 1 & Level 2- Work confidently with percentages, for example, calculate a 25% sale price reduction in an item that normally costs 75, apply a wage increase of 5% to an existing salary of 23,50
Examples of what you will learn on the course:Work confidently with percentages, decimals and fractions in a variety of contexts, such as being at the shops.Take accurate measurements for lengths, weights, temperature etc.Understand and perform calculations with data, statistics and probabilities.Classroom, tutor lead training.

Your work will be assessed by tutor and for accredited courses, to be entered for exam you will need to pass mock exams.
